Tech startups in Atlanta GA

Did anyone notice that giant sucking sensation that was pulling so many of the uber-creative/innovative/brave/curious people of the city toward collective centers this week? As comes to a close, we look with tired but energized eyes back at some of the highlights of a span that included 23 startup-focused events. This was the largest gathering of startups since the Cotton States and International Exposition in 1895. That particular milestone occurred at the start of the week during Startup Rally, co-organized by and the newly launched Startup Georgia.

Huge props to all of the teams that worked so hard on making this week happen. What a way to put a stake in the commitment to establishing Atlanta as be a within the next decade.

Founder Fables is like Fight Club. First rule? You don’t talk about it. So we won’t say but two words. Rock. Stars. (Okay, not literal rock stars, but entrepreneurial powerhouses who are just as cool and creative.) This event, open to founders and co-founders, was one of the most inspiring, enlightening days we’ll participate in all year. Between now and next year, go launch something, then mark your calendar and plan to register for the 2014 event. Do it. Just do.

We can share with you two highlights of Founder Fables.

  • The Jermaine Dupri of So So Def Records and was in the house. Apparently, he was as impressed with the people he met as we were with him. As a way to say thank you to his fellow Founder Fables attendees for opening the startup community to him, he extended a special invitation. It capped our week in a big way – read on to get the 411 on that big to do.
  • Darius “” Monsef, the insightful founder/CEO of and cofounder of, shared some of the most transparent and supportive thoughts on being a company founder any of us have heard. @Bubs inspired so many with his story, “, ” that he has shared his post publicly. It is definitely worth the read.
