New startups in Dublin

2. ViddyAd – Create your own video
Video is great for increasing conversion on your products or services but due to the expense and complexity of creating a video we avoid it!
ViddyAd allows you to easily create your own video. You can build a video from a template already provided, add in your text and music and your video is created.
Here’s a video that explains it all:
Pricing starts at $99 which is great for a video.
ViddyAd won an award at the Dublin Web Summit in the ESB spark of Genius competition beating off hundreds of other start-ups.
3. Referstar – Referral recruitment
I’ve recruited many people over the years and you generally get the best people through referrals. A recruitment agency taking in CV’s and dishing them out to potential employers is a broken model.
If there’s a job you think someone in your network would be suitable for you share out a special link. This link is then tracked to see if someone applied for and possibly gets the job. The employer can then offer a referral fee.
Have a look at this funny video Referstar produced which shows off an area of recruitment that has a bright future.
4. Glipho – Social Blogging platform
One of the biggest problems with blogging is that if you start a blog on your own website it’s up to you to build the community. Without a community in place nobody will share the content, comment on it or link to it.
However, when you join Glipho you are joining a community of people and your blog is shared and supported by the community.
According to the guys in Glipho you can take the content and place it on your own site also and Google will index the content on your site and not the duplicate content that is also on Glipho.
I’m a fan of WordPress because it provides you full control over your blog and is supported by hundreds of thousands of developers around the world. But not everyone will build their own community through a WordPress blog and may need help.
So, although I wouldn’t use Glipho, I do see an opportunity for Glipho with people that want help building their community.
