What are the pros and cons of London for internet / technology startups? - Quora

London has a massive financial services industry, who happily pay rates for engineers that startups often can't compete with.
Con: I've seen cases of £50k engineers being poached by trading platform companies for rates of £800/ day.
Pro : Some have great training schemes that help graduates get started in their career which often startups often don't have the resource for. Once they have a solid year's worth of experience, moving to a startup becomes more of an option.
